When you sing in church, you are praying twice. Holy Rosary Church choir rehearses on Thursday evening and sings at 12.00 noon Mass each Sunday.
The organist and choirmaster is Mr Daniel J Burke.
To join the choir, contact Danny by telephone: 028 9070 2709 or 07703 269501
You don’t have to be a Pavarotti or a Kiri Te Kanawa to join the choir. You’ll find we will bring the best out in you. We welcome new members to the choir.
A group of young musicians and singers provide the music at the 10.30am Mass during term time. If interested in joining please contact Fr McKenna or Fr Fullerton.
Holy Rosary Parish has a magnificent two manual organ which was renovated and upgraded in by Wells-Kennedy Partnership in 2005. It includes 7 stops from the old organ in the Holy Rosary Church. The rebuilt organ is considered to be one of the finest pipe organs in the Diocese and is used extensively in our liturgical worship. To mark the completion of the work, the organ was blessed on Thursday 3rd March 2005 and was followed by a recital given by Mr. Danny Burke. The evening’s entertainment also included a contribution by the parish choir, a solo by Fr. Eugene O’ Hagan and a duet by Fr. Eugene and Maire O Sullivan. The congregation also participated at various stages of the evening’s celebration.
At the present time we invite accomplished organists to feel free to come and play the organ and to become involved in our many and varied liturgical celebrations. On other occasions the organ may also be used for concerts and recitals in a church which has magnificent acoustics.
